One or two mid section hooks?

I have noticed that the williamson stickbaits have 1 mid section hook where a lot of fishermen have 2 in the mid section (often with a cable tie to keep together).
Any one have experience with 1 hook being as good as 2?
A king on the bricks is worth 5 in a boat.
