Hi guys,i need to know what are the best knots for tying Spider wire(Braid line)from nylon to Braid, as a shock trace.
Have tried doubling a Uni Knot but do not trust this, as i have had some of them cut through the nylon line.Am now using an all bright knot and so far have`nt had any ping offs with it.
Any ideas out there?
Thx Hooka.
tie a figure 8 in your Braid to make a loop, then put your finger in the loop lay the tag end of your trace "along side" of the loop but hold it with your finger thats through the loop and your thumb, now make 5 turns around the doubled line with your free hand and then come back and through the loop but you must go over the trace before going through the loop you have your finger in....... by holding the tag end and pulling on your trace you can slip the 5 turns up against the tag end to stop the turns coming off the loop........ its that simple when you know how....
i showed this to Rick Pollock the last time i took him out fishing and he was impressed said it's too easy... so he's testing it now.... i use this same sytem on my snapper rigs but it only needs 3 turns as nylon is not that slippery......
Cheers Lethal
