Hi. Just wondering if anyone out there has used this stuff before? Is it about the same as Saltiga Boat Braid stuff or better? Looking at maybe getting PE6 (80 pound breaking) from Plat website

Ive only used the Boat braid which is very good and value for money.

Be interest in what others are using and how it lasts?

If it's as good as the boat braid then go for it. The only way I can break the pe6 80lb is to tie it to the cleat of the boat when it gets snagged. Incredibly strong
No way I could break it on a fish

I've bought from Jigging World (http://jiggingworld.com) in the past, think they're bout the cheapest I've found on the net. They've got a 15% off sale at the moment as well for their July 4th celebrations. They're pretty good at putting low values on the shipping forms as well to avoid those pesky customs charges

pretty sure the saltiga is an 8 carrier braid and the hooker braid is a 4 carrier braid.......sure someone will put me right if i am wrong.....8 is smoother.....4 would be good for puka fishing etc.
Murray from Hooker is a really nice guy to deal with.Wink

What makes 4 carrier better for puka? is it just generally because cheaper and you can get decent amount for deep drops

The Saltiga braid is awesome. It's an 8 carrier braid and super thin.I've used it a lot on the GBR for big Doggies and GT's and love the stuff.

According to the Daiwa Australia website the boat braid is 8 carrier just a bit thicker than the Saltiga braid. Australia gets a lot of really cool Daiwa stuff we never see here for some stupid reason.

the difference with that stuff to the boat braid is the "evo silicone" which is suppose to make it softer
