I'm changing my stick baits from trebles to singles. Have some Jigstar and mustard jigging hooks but the eye faces the wrong way for the belly hook and sits flat instead of pointing down.

What are most guys using or should I run some Kevlar cord from the belly loop to the hook eye. I looked at some live bait hooks but they looked a bit small.

Have the same problem with the rear hook but I was just going to give the loop a twist but I don't want to bugger the lure. What do you think.

Use two rings to connect the belly hook and it will hang straight down

ive seen people using double split rings and even cable ties, best option is to buy some of those inline hooks.

Greg at GoFish has plenty.
I have only used singles for a while now. The problem is most baits in particular the expensive ones don't swim well when you go from trebles to singles. However with some practise you can get them to work but the odd modification can help, such as put a octy skirt on the belly hook it help to keel the bait stopping it from falling over & stops it ripping out the water. The cheaper baits however don't seem to mind singles & no mods needed.
Tight lines

chris wong has some inline singles.....contact on here.........shogun inline hooks from torpedo 7........decoy make inline single jigging hooks that are good for top water sticks...........7/0 and 8/0 are good sizes........only one split ring needed......as pete said.......also inline raptor hooks.
some will go well with treble on belly and inline single on back.
there is also the baker rig........two singes back to back on the belly(tied with a rubber band)and a single on the back.....you use normal hooks for that like owner sj41 or sj 51(better and more expensive).Even JM monster hooks will do.
have a play.......a few of my lures are just plain ruined with inline singles....especially larger ones.
smelli on here ,sells the inline raptors  but in bigger sizes i think.Wink
you cant go wrong with 7/0 inline shoguns.......perfect for starwalkers/ocea pencil etc....if you can get some.

Thanks I mainly fish starwalker and shimano, but brought some Williamson stick baits that have singles on them and have had good results with them. I also like the rapala x walk but the hooks are crap and I find them a bit out of balance with bigger trebles on them, so gunna try singles on them to.

Singles have less drag than trebles and affect some baits ability to go subsurface, try a ball bearing swivel/split ring on the front.

Jigstar do inline singles in a range of sizes.

never go bigger than the original size trebles as they will ruin the action of the lure.....the starwalker
and ocea pencil go well with shogun inline 7/0......I can vouch for those......again if you go too big it can effect the action and weigh them down.
