After a rod to be paired with my aucurate 600 nn
Will be used for live baiting and jigging around schooner mayor and White Island
Maybe the odd trip to the banks
But I'm wondering if the jig star 450grm is a bit to much of a rod
Want somthing not to much of a broom stick

Any advice will help

I use a Jigstar 350 with a 600n around the areas you have mentioned, and have never been left wanting. IMHO 450 is overkill. A rod in the 300-350g would suit a 600nn and give you a better fishing experience for 99% of your needs. In fact these days I find my JS350 spends more time in the rocket launcher and I use my Offshore Elite 75-125g...loads of fun.

Hey Mad, never used the JS450 but I suspect it may be a bit OTT.
I have an Accurate 600nn which is now on a Synit but used to be on an Xzoga 350 Taka.

I have a mark one jigstar 450 and i love the action on that......the jigstars after that became stiffer with a wider jig range.....think the 350 could jig 200 to 500 gram.......
Agree the 350 over the past 5 years would be fine but i bet the action on my original 450 is not much different from more recent 350's power wise.
It seemed to be my lucky rod for some reason and its still mint...after all this time.......used it with my 5000P.
There have been some big fish caught on the jigstar 350........brads big bass and king on his trip to the three kings ...springs to mind.
Once the idiots turn up..Im outta here...No time for Drama Queens.

Laid back is right the o.g js 450 is very much like the later 350 , pirate has the mk2 js 450 and he uses it to pull stumps out on his father in laws farm.
Got my accurate on a jig star ninja 250.
