wow just seen and held a F30C beautiful quality was surprised for some reason, not exactly sure why just thought at that price point there must be something that had to give to get price down. certainly didnt feel like it.the guys who bought them how are they?held up to the punishment?not just this model but any of the others.cheers

I have the F30CH high ratio spooled with Amigo Delux PE2 (40lb) and it's been given a hard workout on the Slow Pitch jigging with some nice king's up to 20kg most around the 10-15kg and a fair number of Snapper as well.
The reel offers the attributes of a 300 or 400 size round body bait caster but with a lever drag and the ability to handle big fish day in day out. Like all reels maintenance and proper cleaning is a must and the Maxel is no different.
The reel would be one of the better ones coming in from Asia and for the money rates highly over others in its class including the Shimano Ocea's and Calcutta's, Trini's, Daiwa's Pluton/Ryoga 1016 or 2020.
The F30C's near identical twin brother the JM PE2 is made by Maxel in the same factory but the JM PE2 only comes in the one ratio of 5.3:1, the Maxel F30C is offered in 2 ratio's a High 6.1:1 and a low 5.3:1. The JM is nearly $350 dearer or nearly twice the $$$ as the Maxel for the same reel and I can't see $350 worth to have the JM logo on the same reel...

cool as guys.i just got that bay hunter razar from macca and am going to pair it with the ducro 10 i have but was wanting something with a bit more grunt in case i need it.the fc30 does come with the grunt thats for sure.also felt smaller then the ducro?not sure if this is the case as didnt have them side by side but certainly felt more nimble

The Ducro is a good match for the Bay Hunter, the Maxel F30C would be good as well but you won't need the 20kg of drag. Fighting drag from under the arm on the Bay Hunter would be 1-4.5kg and max for the rod is 6kg... That will slay the best snapper... and the odd Kingi.

Rotate ...  I  had my finger on the button for that rod but the slush fund was looking a bit lean after buying 3 other rods and a reel...   Graeme tells it like it is and he's spot on IMHO with his analysis..
The Ducon will do nicely on a beautifully built rod with top of the line components...

I have a OSL08D on a Jigstar Kojak 350, I had tried a JM PE5 on it but preferred the maxel...super smooth and heaps of grunt at half the price.
Planning on a hi speed F30 from John at Tas-tackle for my Jitterbug rod.
if your boyfriend doesn't like fishing....you have a girlfriend
