I've been living in the uk for 3 years and coming back home mid May and can't wait to get back into the jigging! Anyway I've always done my jigging up north out from tutakaka in the summer months jan-March and done well but as I haven't done it for years I'm keen to head straight out there when I get back. What I was wondering was what is like like that time of year? Am I wasting my time or still worth a shot? Need to change tactics etc? Cheers in advance!

Its just getting better by the day. Definitely worth fishing through winter, especially this year.

Not sure about Tut's but down here (Tga) winter brings a lot of the bigger models out to play. Less rats around too.

That's good to hear then! Will I need to change tactics much from what I would do in the summer? Lighter leader, smaller/bigger jig size?
