Hi, my wife bought me a jig rod for my birthday awhile back, its called a Jigging master Powerspell.  I am not sure what breaking strain braid to use on it, and how heavy
a jig it can handle? It has powerspell 50B written on it & max 350g, PE 3-7, Test 27KG.
I am guesssing that max 350g refers to the maximum jig weight, but what does PE 3-7 mean?  What does test 27KG mean?  I have an Okuma TG15S lever drag reel with 50lb multi coloured braid on it, would this be a suitable reel, & line weight for it?  Will this reel be able to handle jigging for kingfish, or do I need to upgrade?

Yes that reel will be fine on it.

PE 3 - 7 means about 30lb - 70lb line.

350g would suit 300 - 400gm jigs.

Sounds like a pretty good setup to me.

27kg is to do with what the rod can deadlift.

They are awesome rods.

Should get a few responses here...Mr Wong should reply.

You have an awesome wife, they are great rods, I have a 350 myself.

50B means 5 foot rod for baitcast reels (overhead)
27kg is the deadlift of the blank
PE (poly ethylene) rating is the diameter/strength of the braid, PE 3-7 is about 30 to 70lb (depending on the braid manufacturer)
350g does refer to the jig weight, you can use 250g to 400g

50lb braid will be fine, not sure about the reel, what is its drag rating.

Rocky, give your missus a big huge because she has brought you one of the best jigging rods - period!

That rod works best with a 350g jig but can jig 250 - 450g jigs.  PE3-7 means it can handle 30lb - 70lb braid.  Test 27kg means it can lift 27kg!

Your Okuma should be OK to jig with but the Power Spell rod deserves nothing but top-end reels.  Maybe you can talk the missus to buy you a Blue Heaven or Ocea Jigger? Question

edit - geeze Stu and Nath beat me to it!
give it death!

Gotta be quick there Chris. My new PS350 is so nice to jig with, is a good break from the 400+ gm jigs on the 500. Haven't caught anything big on it yet, soon...very soon....

hey ya rocky I just got a 350 myself also have a heavier powerspell but I think the 350 is gonna be my favourite it jigs a nice range of lead very well so far from the 200gm hardy,300gm slider t  the 470 mackeral(which seems to just be a little too heavy cant wait to load it up on a 20kg plus fishee!!!!I am sure you will find its power unbelievable. When thinking about the 27kg deadlift on the stick its not gonna break! That weight is more power than a lot of game sticks claiming to be 37kg set ups have.

Hi Chris, I have talked my wife into allowing me to get a better reel for the powerspell
rod. How much is an Ocea Jigger, or the Blue heaven you mentioned, and where to buy?  Would a Shimano Torsa be good enough?
