No wonder its hard to catch a decent feed here in Hawkes Bay.
They should impound there boats and take there licenses off them since it is obviously a large scale operation and teach them a lesson

You have to wonder ...if that is what has been going on in the Hawke Bay region what is there to stop the same thing happening in the HG?

How is this "political"? If true its a clear breech of quota system and the Fisheries Act. How is it political? perhaps read the article.

No wonder the Hawke Bay fishery is stuffed and seems to have got worse than when I lived there. Gurnard all gone.

First time I read an newspaper article that actually made me feel sick.

There was a case in Wellington in the '90's involving an individual with the same unique surname that resulted in prison time for breaches of the QMS.  I'm not sure if this latest matter concerns the same individual but it is certainly the same family.  He and his family should not ever be allowed to fish or run a fishing related company again and all the quota and boats involved in this conspiracy should be forfeit and sunk.

Thanks for the heads up Lethal! Unfortunately I haven't had time to spend all day on fishing.net and only just found it now, seeing as you have deemed it political I will move it to its rightful place Wink

i dont want these to be removed but it seams to be this is how it is from now on...

these sort of things will always turn into a fight over who is responsible for policing such disgusting actions by our commercial fleet, it cant be helped...

but this sort of thing needs to be made public for all to comment on,
whether it be talking about Politics or not, the fact our fishery is being devastated by a few needs to be addressed, not hidden in some obscure thread way down in the depth of the front page...

I totally agree marty. Their quota should be retired i also think they should be shut down and pending investagation they should be heavily fined.
