Been looking at getting one of the new Saltiga 5000 high speeds for stickbating and the odd popper work, Will mainly be around Mayor , Schooner with a trip to the islands on my to do list . Has anyone used one? If so, how did you find it? I googled a review on it and they didn't seem to rate it as high as I would have expected. Any recommended places to get them from? Am currently based in Perth, But have no problems importing from Japan etc.

Digitaka is probably best place to get one. They are super good lookin. haven't had mine long enough to really rate it. Would probably choose it over a Stella but not much between them.

Got mine there, first time I have used them and no probs, big gst bill when it got here, but whadya do?, they might send as gift if ya ask em.

Have friends who have used them several times also with no probs. Daiwa reel specialist and usually cheaper than others.

Hi guys

Looking at getting a saltiga sent over from Digitaka.com (and save me a few hundred dollars) but I've heard that you cant get any servicing done on saltigas that you've imported yourself.
Do you guys know if this is true??
How have you guys got around this??

gizzyK...Daiwa NZ wont service an imported reel but others will...it just means you will have to pay for the service but if you are willing to shell out the cost of a Saltiga surely you can afford a service once a season...try swordfishsteve at  http://www.reelrepairguy.co.nz
if your boyfriend doesn't like fishing....you have a girlfriend
