Anyone used one of these, they look great and im fishing pe-4 on saltiga 4500.
Any advise would be appreciated, or any recommendations of  something that would suit that reel and pe-4.

had a play yesterday, I would like one very muchly, dam if I did not like the 5'8 one the big popper rod was there a 2 piece and again nice as.

Have a look at the OTI popper rods at Smartmarine. Great price and a lot more stick than the one you are looking at.(the VanStal you mentioned is only a 30-50lb rod)Ouch

I guess the main thing is to make sure that the rod regardless of class will work the lure you select...there are rods that work poppers and then there are rods that actually work.

The Van Stahl 30-50pd popper rods are very good bang for the buck, lot cheaper than 2k for a Jap Broomstick.
Maybe a good way to find out if this style of fishing is for you, if it is spend up after you have defined your needs.
Im sure everyone remembers all the heavy jigging gear getting sold off pretty fast.
Leave the gear envy to the keyboard jockeys, The Van Stahl can cast a popper or stickbait and work one on the retreave and muscle a fish up as well.
