I have no issues with cracking. Was advised to get a motor bracket for towing the boat as most stress on the back is going over potholes on the road. Is a wet boat but all you need is a good clear canopy and no issues. In Welly so can't help you with a ride sorry.

you know my opinion on them. they have their negatives but i would buy one again so  i think that says alot.

you're right rusty, that is my boat back on trademe, not sure why as he was thrilled with it. maybe trying to make a quick buck? he did a few thing to it so its still a good price at $18,500

Too far away for a trial, other wise would have been keen, I have a canopy and clears so is dryish, wife would come if it wasn't.
Yes you have to have outboard support bracket in at all times when on the trailer.
No issues with cracking at all, some guys have put them on roller trailers, don't do this as the hulls change shape on hot days. I think to be under warranty they have to be on Mac trailer and have outboard bracket,
Have to watch duck boards when beach lauching as waves run up them into the boat, not a real issue with a bilge pump installed
Very stable at rest which wife loves!
Would buy one again, but thinking 5.7 model next time

60 hp Jonhson, goes very well, have seen some with 30-40 on them, would not go there.
These boats can carry a reasonable pay load safely, 3 adults plus gear so need a few horses.

had a 3.6, 4.2 and now a 5.7 sweet boats
had a 2-stroke 50hp mariner/merc on my 4.2 went mint and cheep on gas due to the higher cc rating about 900 i think, old man had a 4.2 with a 4 stroke 50 yammie and it was bit underpowered IMHO.
they do bend and crack but right trailer and OB bracket a must, and they have been refining the 4.2 for 15+ years so have sorted most of the faults.
i recon you get as much boat in a 4.2 mac as a 16-18ft tinnie.

I don't know anything about those motors, Don't like the canopy on the New Plymouth one, no clears on the front, I have a proper windscreen with the canopy fixed to it, (Same as the one in Whakatane that you have asked questions about) they will turn a fair bit of spray by themselves without a canopy, just personal preference.
May be hard to find one with a bigger motor, I think sold new with warranty dealers wont put any more than 50 on them.

In Welly also unfortunately.  Have had for nearly three years.  50hp Tohatsu on the back.  Got it for spearfishing and limited fishing.  Good boat - don't regret getting it, would do it again.  You'll have read about it being wet (it is - Bull's got a great clears set up that would keep you dry), not so good in a following sea (not so sure as compared to what - I'd think that other small size boats have similar issue).  50 hp fine on power for 2/3 spearos - struggles with 3 big guys (110-140kg each) to get on plane but fine when it is.   Tows kids on biscuit just fine.  Can be a bit heavy on a ach launch but two of us always get it in and out.

Have had small bit of cracking/broken weld on join of cuddy cabin to hull and at stern where transom plate screws onto hull.  The joy of plastic - all repaied for bugger all using a Mac/Galloway's approved plastic welder in the Wgtn area.

Great bang for buck and well suited to spearo/fishing/fun with family at low-ish price.

It has always been on there since I purchased the boat, so never run it with out it....assume there is some merit to having one, dont have problems getting on the plane.
