Looking at an older boat repowered with Parsun 30hp that's a few years old - I understand they are a knockoff older Yamaha design?
What are they like, are parts and servicing available in Auckland?  Any stories good or bad you have heard of about them?
Good fishing trip nothing breaks, great trip catch fish.

Just get a Tohatsu if on a budget. Parts easy to get. They are unreliable with electrical issues corrosion the list goes on. They are worth nothing second hand. Most marine dealers wont touch them for servicing. Get a Tohatsu bloody awesome engines.

Heard an outboard mechanic refer to them as "Aspirins" because they start fizzing when they come in contact with water........

Apparently some of them are such close knockoffs of older Yamaha 2-strokes that parts will interchange. So the design is probably robust, just the manufacturing and metallurgy that is likely typical of many other knockoffs.
