Currently using a Fin Nor Biscayne 80/ Shimano BBE Topwater rod.
Considering a reel upgrade but...
1. Is it worthwhile? How do you rate the Biscayne?
2. If so, $300-500 suggestions.

This is what I would recommend

auction expired yesterday with no bids, you would have to spend a lot more to better this reel. I assume it will probably be relisted.

Cheers

Pulled the trigger on a Saragosa 10000. Price matched by H&F so $395. Plus the bonus of supporting a loca business and backup if any issues.
Heard a tale of a fisherman who played a 300kg Marlin for 3 hours yesterday on one of these reels.
Van Staal 832 2 piece Popper rod and Fin Nor Biscayne 80 for sale 😉.
Will post details soon.

Nice one......I got a spare spool for mine for 90 aussie.....dont know what they charge in nz......but its not the big cough...like a stella spool would be.
The gosa has some parts of the stella personality.
