Hi,

After a long journey of thinking of a yak, but buying a boat only to sell it to buy a house I have now brought a yak, a Profish GT.

Will be using it around Tauranga, mostly in the harbour, or maybe off the Mount coast once I have some hours under my belt.

Being a total noob with rigging up yaks, can any other GT owners share some pics of their setups? I have a fair bit of Railblazer gear left over from the boat, rod holders, telepoles, nav lights etc, so am keen to attach a fair bit of that to the yak. But whats the best setup? Looking at the stern of the yak, there isn't much room for a starport there.

Incidentally, what are the larger recessed brass insets for? The smaller for running rigs etc, but are the larger just for larger attachments?

Cheers

Starport on the chillpod is the way to go.
I've also got one at the front of the tackle pod.

Love fishing, love my job. It's a bloody shame that they clash.

I also fitted mine with the Ocean Kayak Big Catch seat, the 3 pockets on the back of it allow me to store sea anchor and water bottles.

Awesome little yak - pocket battleship.
