Besides the top end stick baits such as gamma, which mid priced stick sits are any good? Are strada and star walker any good?

I would rate angel tackle right up there for mid range, In the $70ish dollar range, Hand crafted and real easy to swim, they have accounted for all my best kingies.

I heard only the expensive ones work as they are magic and technique has nothing to do with it , well that's what I guy in a fishing shop was insinuating .

Thats right, Unless the stickbait costs more than a mortgage its not worth throwing at kingfish, they wont even bother opening their mouths for it. Kingfish are the gold diggers of the ocean. If you aint got the bling bling they dont wanna know ya. LOL

Saltiga dorado sliders and Starwalkers   both work well and are inexpensive compared to the gold plated carpenters :)

hittter lures at $100 to $140 on the website, excuse my french, but how in the **** is that 'mid priced'

carpenters can be bought for the same money.

mangrove studio - volador, tail walk gunz or starwalkers or any other name they are called.

If you can find a few wooden ones, they tend to be better imho than the plastic and resin jobs. Heaps of good qual ones keep popping up in sale section here.

1. what's the price range you want to be spending?

That way, it doesn't really matter what individuals perception of "mid-priced" is, it'll be answered according to your price bracket.
Also, there's always cheaper ways of getting stuff, particularly stickbaits from fishing forums both local & internationally.
However, If your intention is to pay retail from a local tackle store, then this too should be stipulated,
so that others wont be quoting prices they paid in private sales, where a bit of time and lucky timing needs to be invested.

Recently purchased a GAmma Nemo in Orange, brand NEw for $140. Is this one of the ones youe are talking about at $250?

Bluefish are fairly frequently available at $120 to $150. Maybe not full retail but not hard.

To me mid priced is $40 to $90.

Lets not turn this thread into a brand bashing,slander fest. you may have connections to get carpenters cheep that's fine good on you.

i was only offering an opinion (as the poster had asked) of what i have found to be high quality "mid" priced stickbaits  

for sure every ones definition of mid priced is different i was working on say 40 for cheepies 300ish at the highest end

thought 300 + 40 = 340 Divided by 2 is 170 

so in my opunion 100 - 140 would be in that mid range

starwalkers...shimano ocea pencils....shimano orcas....Black magic......all give you cheaper introduction to stickbaits and hurt less if you lose one......Keep an eye out for specials at your local store or go and see Boulder on here.....He will look after you and i know he stocks starwalkers.Wink
The first two swim very nicely with 7/0 inline shogun hooks....Ive had success with them....non of these will cost you over 40 bucks(standard price)............I would say 60 to 100 is mid price and agree angel tackle sticks are well made and swim well....I have three of those.............All depends on how much you want to spend mate.
Once the idiots turn up..Im outta here...No time for Drama Queens.
