Was trying to kill some time today so went into FCO for a bit of a look around and walked out with a Saltist and a Demon Blood 762xh. Its my first top water set up so now need to get some stick baits. I'm thinking if every one can say what there go to stick bait is when the fishing is tough that would be a great start and i'll get some that are mentioned...

Cheers.
Go the Warriors!

Anything Carpenter.....
the man fishes every where around the world including NZ 365 days of the year testing all his lures and rods
they expensive but when the fishing is tough you know that this lure has been tested in every condition so that you can raise fish when the fishing is tough and have confidence in the lure you are swimming!
but my picks for nz kings
bluefish 60g, 100g, 120g, 140g
gamma 105g, 120g, 160g
diablo gamma 90g, 105g, 140g

It may be my 25% scottish heritage, but I just can't bring myself to cast a lure over $50. So Sebile stick shad in sea chrome and Shimano Orca in bleeding pilchard do the damage for me.

The expensive baits are nice but you don't need regardless of weather the fishings hard or not. The shimano Orcas represent good value for money swim really well and catch fish. We were throwing carpenters, crafts and other expensive what have yous at them the other night and the dirty old you-zuri pencil popper worked just as well.

Hitter aurora in squid color..... Easily quadrupled the strikes I get when I was using oceas/orcas. Particularly when the fish are a bit on the shy side
