Hi team.
Am after some advice on replacing assist hooks on jigs, both on the knots to use and the best products to use.
Am wanting to do the hooks on both bottom ship/jitterbugs styles and bigger benthos style jigs.
And if anyone knows where I can get a pr bobbin from. Marine deals are sold out and can't find anywhere else that sells them on the web or in store, especially in Christchurch anyway.
Cheers Andrew

Get your bottomship assists from kaveman on here. best around. or make your own with owner 1/0 livebait hooks and jigstar s cord
for jig assists, the owner sj 41s in 11/0 and 13/0 seem popular depending on size of the jig. again with jigstar h cord or ygk zylon if couta are common

If you want the very best jigging hook then try Gamakatsu Tuned; available in three sizes. JM assist hooks are also very good. Some anglers swear by the Jig Star Ninja hooks as well. All proven on big Kingfish.
CONFIDENCE: The feeling you have before fully understanding the situation.

I bought a PR bobbin from Ballengers a couple of years back, it was a Jigstar one by memory. Also picked up a JM PE5 from there which is the only proper jigging reel I have seen in CHCH. They are really knowledgeable with trout and cod gear but you really have to head north to find shops who stock the good stuff as no one down here even knows what a PR not is.

Yeah mate will do the Chain Knot after this weekend. Will then step into doing a "Refined" FG and then show how I do a PR Knot to get tidiest looking Half Hitches and not have its spiral out of control.
