i have a ruffian 4.9 that was origionally sold by Action Marine in Papatoetoe, Auckland.
 
I have tried to google search, where they were made, but can only come up with boats for sale. There seems to be no info on who made them, or where they came from. The boat looks to be from the mid 80's.
 
If anybody can shed some light onto who made them, or where they came from, i would be really interested.

I cant find a pic of my boat from the front on. but it looks the same as this, apart from the anchor well cover is not side opening. It flips back towards the windscreen.
 
 
from what i have found out, from some boat website in rotorua, these boats should only have a maximum of 140hp on the back, and can run well enough with 90hp. My one has a 200 on it.
 
im really keen to see who made them.

Sorry no idea who made or where your boat was made but cannot help but reflect on the sideways opening anchor well hatch.
 
Most ... mine include fold backwards meaning if not secured are inclined to to fly up towards the windscreen if the wind gets up & likely to crunch fingers etc. not to mention damaging the windscreen whereas a side opening cover presumably should not cause such problems.
 
On second thoughts my anchor well cover does fold sideways however the forward access hatch cover folds backwards & imo sideways opening could solve a lot of potential probs.

dunno whats going on with the pics, posted them the same as i usually do, but they aint coming up.

i have atleast the anchor hatch plus folded back towards the windscreen, so no jammed fingers are on the cards. And have been out in some rough weather, and the hatch has never thought of opening.

edit............. i was a dickhead and put \ instead of /.................. major idiot hahaha

only prob i have had is that the tote tank emptys before my wallet wants it to. flat as day, and we can hit just under 60mph.

yeah thats the crowd that i saw online. I may have to give them a call and see if they know anything about them and if they were the origional makers, or if they just have the plugs to make them.
