I haven't been tying for a few months, haven't been well. It's also been years since I have had to buy my thread retail... but being away means I now do....

Last night I started to tie and realised I was out of my favorite shade of Danville's pre-wax 6/0 i went online to get some

Of all the online retailers I tried only one had it in stock and I won;t deal with him because he's a deviant.

Everyone has uni-thread... the world's worst tying thread in my opinion.... when and why did people start preffering complete ****e over usefull?

Nah, it's been done through ignorance... Many tiers have been sold on uni thread having a higher breaking strain but being a "uni-thread" it doesn;t lie flat as opposed to the Daville's which does... the end result is one contributes three times the bulk for less strength in construction, but most tiers are not taught.

I'm sure there will be someone on here that lives in Wellington that might be able to help you. Try a post in the Briny Bar.

Just checked my threads - it's all Danville 70 denier or TMC 16/0 for the fiddly stuff (it's a surprisingly strong and usable thread).

I use the 210 denier as my saltwater thread...

TMC Thread I haven;t even seen... where do you source that Jack?

Bennechi had a beautiful 16/0 super strong mutli fibre thread... might be the same stuff. after my initial spool i couldn;t get any more.

Think I got it through a staff order while working at Hamills in Wgtn. It's a very good thread. My preferred thread for anything above a size 12. I've got some 210 and use it for streamers or hot spots. I know Andrew uses Danville 210 as his main streamer thread.
