I have recently acquired a Stradic 8000FI with 2 spools of which one will be for jigging and the other topwater. Am now looking for a rod, so what rod and jig weight do people use for these reels eg Stella, Saragosa, Stradic?? Considering 2nd hand Jigstar 250 or JM PS 250. Would these rods suit, any advice appreciated.

Seems like you are on the right track for that size reel. I would look for something in the 200-250g range. Presuming you are running 50lb braid. I have a 180-280 jig rod running the same size reel and works like a dream. Other options would be a Synit mantis x35 or if on more of a budget, okuma salina 200g jig rod ($199 from memory), or the diawa monster mesh max 200g. Only if you are wanting to buy new, if you are buying second hand the options you have picked are great, just be patient and something will pop up.

Yep running 50lb but will likely swap to a good PE 4/5. Was looking at a 200g monster mesh max but will persist with 2nd hand jigstars or JM's. What sizes do the JMs and Jigstars come in? I'm guessing one around 200g, then 250g+.
