Just interested on peoples opinions of the new  stellas....4,000 up to 30,000.
How do they compare to the previous model sw range.......they are quite a bit more expensive but you have some new very big capacity reels ..Is the extra price worth it? 
Are improvements in these models worth coughing the extra?
                    Interested to hear users comments...Good or bad.....Wink

I got a 14000 and love it, yet to have a topwater session in it but done plenty of casting,  it seems like a different beast all together really, allot more rigid thru the handle, bail arm doesn't flick back, really loud clicker, thicker bail arm, its the same size as a old 10k, bit more capacity got 200m of tuffline 100lb with plenty of room for a longggg leader, the 30000 would be an awesome game real in my view for stripys etc
they are a lot more similar to the saltigas now

I also like my new Stella 1400 feels a tough reel sadly nothing I hooked on it in New Calidonia a week ago managed to pull and string

LBD As usual your assumptions are incorrect My jm 16000 spools screw right onto that reel so I am sure the previous standard spools would as well. Interestingly the 14000 spool takes roughly 50m more line than the JM spool Definitly a great size reel for NZ kingfish and also will do service in the tropics as the faster retrieve felt nicer than my older model 10000 when stickbaiting enabling me to stay in better contact with the lure.
I have already sold one of my older 10000 and will also sell my 18000 and my even older FA 20000

I wanted to question whether the 30K would be a good reel for NZ size Swords? Personally I have not caught one nor attempted too, but it's on the list...

Planning a mission around these reels and the Ocea Switchbait series of rods in the near future - certainly "think" they will be sweet for day time swording with their tendency to climb the water column once hooked.....plenty of capacity and drag.....just need some one experienced on the winding bit, a keen as deckie or two and a sharp skipper on the taps to go for an early shot (and a camera guy to hide in the wheelhouse when the fuse is lit...ha!)

...I'm picking adrenaline will be a factor but should be do able from what I gather.
