right to go with my 24 k out fit ive got myself a couple of penn 525 mags,mother sent mine over from uk....now the thing is ive got one with 10 kilo line with a 10 metre leader of 60lb tied to my trace line which is 3 metres of 80lb flouro would this be idea for the kings trying the softly approch?? the only problem is theirs prob only 150 -200 yards max off main line would this be enough???
alslo wot line would you use for popping on the other reel and would you add a leader too?

Ahh then its got that high ratio 6.2.1 or something similar be ok for jigging then but this is a walkabout forumLOL.
You might want to put braid on the other reel for casting poppers and add a mono/fluro leader that way you will get plenty on there and better distance!

no bro its a reel to use for fishing the beaches back home its not a boat reel,was juat going to use it as another set up really. the reel can handle it just wos'nt sure if the amount of main line would be enough?

I've never used the softly softly approach but then I've been busted off heaps too and in hindsight I may have been better off not trying to stop the fish. I reckon you should ditch the mono mainline and respool with braid though- you'ld probably double the capacity.
I once got a 13kg kingie on 4kg braid but that was from a boat and it almost spooled me a couple of times. We lifted the anchor so it could drag us around in the tinnie - would have been no chance from the rocks without a ****load more string
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish caught will we realise we can't eat money.
