Hey guys, I’m currently looking for an outboard motor for my boat that isn’t expensive, has an in built fuel tank and has enough power to get maximum of 2kms out and back including moving spots and stuff while still having a comfortable amount of fuel in it. Looking at a little mercury 3.3 hp 15” shaft… is that enough power?

I know from experience that a 5hp will get a 2.7m inflatable up on the plane, at least some of the time with no more than one person on board.

A 3.3hp probably won't.

Mine was the same weight.  It doesn’t matter much, total weight will be more, a 5hp will weigh 25kg and most will be you.
