BCS are the new distributors for Maxel reels so it won't be too long before their outstanding reels are available again.
The popular Transformer and Hybrid reels have undergone some slight changes and there is a new reel for Slow Pitch jigging called the Rage.

For the moment. BCS will concentrate on selected Transformer, Hybrid and Rage reels.

Reel colour and gear ratios are not firm but your opinion on preferred colours and gears are welcome.  Please reply with your colour choice in order below.  NB although Pink, Purple and Green colours are available, they can be specially ordered.

Black Gunsmoke Transformer

 Gold Silver Transformer

I am thinking of running with -

  • F30CH  6.2:1
  • F50CH  6.2:1
  • F60      4.0:1
  • F70      4.0:1

please give me your ideas and opinions so I can best cater for your jigging needs.

Transformer reels are some of the best available!  Retail prices will be competitive, even well below opposition prices.  Watch out Kingies!!

nice rods those Beat Propagate!
Rage reel is RRP is approx. $799 Max drag is 7.6kg
Transformer F30CH is RRP approx. $699 max drag is 10kg.

Both reels are dual lever drag but the Rage has a gradual cam which allows it to fish as light as PE0.6.

Actually thinking about it, your rod being PE6 needs a bigger reel than the Rage.  F60H Transformer takes 330m PE5, F70 330m PE8 so I think you might be looking in this area.

Great News Chris...   They really are great reels which as you know, why i supported them under the old distributor regime..
Best selling were the      grey/ silver..   silver / grey    gold / silver
The poor seller in your line up was the titan /  black and the proverbial best seller was blue / silver..  and the other colours were also rans...
Good Luck..  maybe look at their other lines of products for future sales to supplement reels...

Thanks for your advice John.  You were an early advocate for Maxel which hadn't gone unnoticed.

yes eventually.  Want to start with the reels then onto the accessories later.  I can order in what you want to be delivered with the reels later. What are you interested in?

The f70 in a 4.8-1 or something similar would be good chris. we dont all fish the 3 kings and ranfurlys but having an 80 pound reel thats got a slightly high retrieve for sub 80m fishing would be great, to slow and your action is limited to low lifts.

No service guy set up yet but I'd think that most any reel mechanic should be able to service the Sea Wolf and they could contact me to order in parts.  Let me know what part is required ASAP because I'm ordering reels this week.  Email me [email protected]
