I want to rig up a thunnus 8000 for casting poppers. Whats the best way to rig this? reel has mono on it. Does it need a leader? Want to put ring on end.  All help appreciated

Not the best reel for poppers, but if you must, load it with 50lb braid, add a 80lb leader via a fg knot then to a swivel via uni or short Ag chain knot
