Hey there Guys, I am currently Jigging a jigstar 250 with a Trini 16na. Time to start looking at replacing the Trini but WITH WHAT? I feel a bit like a rabbit it the head lights. My Trini has done well but the anti-reverse is starting to pack up. Yes it is going in for an overhaul but I still want a spare in any case. I have heard the New Ocea Jigger 2000 is the bee’s knees but I have also heard a lot about the others. I am quite keen to buy once and buy right so any advice would be appreciated.

Seriously I don't think you can go wrong with any of those brands. Just don't go too big I guess. Wait for something to pop up on here if you want a good deal or buy new if you got the cash Smile

My 2c. I think jigging master are the easiest to jig with, accurate are built the best and maxel is a great reel at the price so awesome value for money. Can't go wrong really

Thanks FA, in that case would you recommend the Accurate 400 or 500 size on a 250 jigstar?

Upgrade the AR dog in the Trini to a spring loaded dog
http://alantani.com/trinidad spring upgrade
Cost about 5 bucks. While you're at it add carbontex drags and the trini will be as good/better than an OJ

Edit: the TN16Na already has carbontex drags
Beer: the most important meal of the day.

My thinking was on the lower ratio less stress on the gears. Any reason why you dont reccomend the 2 speed?

Raumati, my gut feel would be yes as the major change from the older gold TN16 to the A series was the addition of 2 x AR dogs (like the 40N had.) How do you find the 40N with the double spring dogs?

I run a Accurate BX400 DFS on my Jigstar 250...find it to be well balanced and very capable...that being said, cant go past Maxel for bang for buck...try John at http://www.tas-tackle.co.nz...

The low speed is soo slow mate would hate to fight a king with that sorta ratio, I wouldn't b worried about busting accurate gears either man
