World record striped marlin

An Auckland angler Clive Green has landed a 123.8kg striped marlin on a 3kg line at the 3 kings islands. The fish was caught on the Middlesex bank and taken back to the Bay of Islands to weigh. The catch is believed to be a world record for its ratio of 40 to 1. This was part of a very successful 4 days for the crew who also landed a 600 pound blue.

Currently all striped marlin records are held in New Zealand with the largest at 517 pounds.
