The story goes a bit like this.....
Heading home from a day trolling for gamefish wide of the Mokohinau Islands, Dimitri and his crew noticed a few gannets bombing bait and some swirling in the water which they suspected were kingfish.
Then the guys spotted a marlin fin and before long it was clear that there were 4 stripeys feeding hard on the surface. Trolled lures and a livebait didn't work so a 70gm stickbait was cast and landed right on target. 2 sweeps and it was hooked...
