Simrad Compact Autopilot

Simrad has opened up the door for smaller powerboats up to 30-feet with the introduction of their new AP12 (handheld) and AP14 (fixed station) autopilots. These autopilots are easy to install and operate on all manner of craft (including outboards, inboards and sterndrive boats). The handheld AP14 incorporates a back-lit LCD screen which displays detailed heading information and both control heads are fully weatherproofed in recognition of their possibly exposed positions. It only takes a single key to engage or disengage the autopilot. Right and left buttons give course adjustment between 1° and 10° and a dodge facility is included to make instant changes after which the pilot can return to the original course. Both autopilots can be linked to a GPS and as with all Simrad autopilots, electronic intelligence adjusts the steering according to the sea and wind conditions.
