Raymarine’s new Dragonfly Sonar/GPS

Raymarine’s just released Dragonfly Sonar/GPS is everything a small boat owner could wish for: a ClearPulse® CHIRP sonar, complete with Raymarine’s new breakthrough DownVision™ technology and a GPS plotter, all in a compact, waterproof package costing just $1189.

Dragonfly’s unique dual-channel ClearPulse transceiver delivers simultaneous views of CHIRP sonar and CHIRP DownVision sonar, enabling boaties to target fish and see underwater structures with amazing photo-like clarity.

Using Raymarine’s own, specially engineered high speed CPT-60 tranducer, Dragonfly gives owners the benefit of both an ultra high frequency (320kHz to 380kHz) 60 x 1.4-degree DownVision fan beam and a high frequency (170kHz to 230kHz) 25-degree conical sonar beam. The result is lifelike, crystal clear images unlike anything previously available.

Dragonfly also comes complete with a super-fast-response temperature sensor, the latest digital colour charting (with Navionics charts), a large 5.7in VGA display, Raymarine’s intuitive Lighthouse user interface and a high resolution, super-bright (1600 Nits) screen that is easy to see – even in bright sunlight with polarised sunglasses. For added on board security, the Dragonfly display can be secured in its quick-release, tilt-and-swivel, drop-in base, using an optional Thule lock core.

Dragonfly will be officially released in New Zealand at the Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show in Auckland in May and will then be available nationwide through Lusty and Blundell’s network of leading marine dealers.
