Top fishermen, such as Milan Radonich and Nathan O’Hearn (from the hit TV show, Placemakers Big Angry Fish are strongly endorsing Raymarine’s HD digital bird radar.
“Like the HD Digital technology used in Raymarine’s fish finders, one of the main benefits is its clarity and ease of use,” they say.
The HD digital radars come with five preset modes (Buoy, Harbour, Coastal, Offshore and Bird). All have different settings designed to cut the clutter caused by rain, fog, rough seas and all are accessible at the press of a button.
“These radars produce exceptional image clarity and detect even the smallest targets, whether it’s at very short range or miles away,” they say.
“However, the best feature is Raymarine’s special HD Digital Bird mode. When activated, this automatically tunes the radar to detect bird work ups, which as all good fishers know, are a key sign of fish activity.
“Bird mode enables such work ups to be detected well beyond the range of what is visible with the naked eye.”
Other unique features of these HD Digital radars are their high speed (48rpm) and dual range modes.
Being able to operate at 48 rpm (twice the speed of conventional radars) means the radar display is updated twice as fast: a great advantage when traveling at speed.
Raymarine’s Dual Range function enables skippers to run two range scales simultaneously. For example: one side of the radar display might be set to 1 nautical mile (NM) while the other is set to 3NM. This is like running two radars at the same time and gives users the ability to monitor short and mid range scales simultaneously.
