Prizegiving 2002

The winners are announced for another Season of the Feilding Surf Casting club.

The top fisho for the 2001/2002 season is again Brent Rolston.  Top lady is Irene Ratford and the midget trophy was shared between Zane Moxham and Sarah Ransom.  No Junior presentation this year.  The family cup was won by Mark and Margie Jeffares and the most points accrued by a new member - Jock Bielski.

Other awards presented included; 

Heaviest fish of species: snapper (10.18 kgs) - Brent Rolston; kahawai (3.44kgs) - Colin Ransom; gurnard (1.42 kgs) - Jock Bielski; jack mackeral (.60 kgs) - Mark Jeffares; spotted smooth hound shark (12.00 kgs) - Brent Rolston; red cod (2.00 kgs) - Colin Ransom;short fin eel (1.18 kgs) - Jenny Spackman; long fin eel (1.00kg) - Kim Seager; conger eel (7.08kgs) - Wayne Moxham; barracouta (2.5 kgs) - Colin Ransom; trevally (.700kgs) - Colin Ransom; blue moki (1.08 kgs) - Colin Ransom. Most species caught shared between Colin Ransom and Jock Bielski; most meritorious catch for a king fish (16.00kgs)caught in local waters - Brent Rolston; The heaviest fish any species went to Irene Ratford for a 42.5 kg Eagle Ray which was also a New Zealand record.

Other competitions completed earlier in the year and presented at the prize giving included: the Dry Casting competition with Vincent Iwikau overall winner, Maria Moxham for the ladies, Gemma Birchler - Juniors and Jessie Birchler - Midgets. Colin Ransom received the trophy for last winter's Brass Monkey competition.
