Pending junior record

Isn’t it great to see the pleasure kids get from catching a fish? Young James Kerr clearly enjoyed the challenge of catching a record fish when we were out for the day last weekend.

James was fishing from his dad’s boat ‘Stingray’, an 8.5m Rayglass, in 80m off Mercury Bay and landed three Skipjack Tuna on light tackle. The best of the three was a 1.1kg fish on 1kg line – a fine effort for a six year old considering 1kg can be a challenge for much more experienced anglers.

Well done James! For more information on Stingray charters, click here.
