OBC ladies event has Bond theme

This year’s Outboard Boating Club’s ‘Nauti-Girls’ fishing competition is going to have a Bond theme – Bond Girl Boaties.

To be held on November 4 and based out of the club’s facilities off Auckland’s Tamaki Drive, the event is a fundraiser for the Make A Wish NZ Charitable Trust. As well as the novel theme, the event will be decided on a measured length rather than a weight basis.

Anglers will need to have an official measure mat, purchased before they head out, on which they place their catch. A photograph is taken on a phone, the image downloaded onto an app which enters the fish.

This gives people the choice of releasing their fish after it has been measured, if they so choose.

The competition encompasses a wide range of species and the entry fee includes a free glass of bubbles on arrival at the prizegiving, a gourmet buffet dinner and a band.

Anglers catching the longest fish will be well rewarded, as well as the best dressed team and master baiter.
