The weather over the last two days has been fantastic with a huge high sitting over the country for another couple of days. The forecast has been 10 knots variable, what more could one want. Well - fish actually. There is approximately 16 boats at the Kings, all having mixed success as is the West Coast. Congratulations to Kerry Rollerston for a T & R on 15 kg from the boat 'Karizma', Andrew Morrogh from 'Wildcat' and the boat 'Torily' also picked one up on Monday. All three boats were fishing the West Coast. Great to see the fishing improving at long last.

Monday evening had the Bay of Island charter boat 'Independence' at the Houhora weigh station. 'Independence' is fishing the Nationals and had a dream run yesterday with a blue marlin, caught by John Temm, pull the scales down to 247.4/37kg. Dave Johnson, from the same boat landed a 152kg striped marlin on 15 kg. Great effort guys. the water off the Cape was exceptional yetserday, however the blue turned to green the further south you travelled. Good luck to all boats fishing in this tournament.
