New Reels Introduced

Thompson Walker ltd is introducing 14 reels to their already impressive range over the next 12 months. The highlight will undoubtedly be the new International 70, 2 speed Big Game Special. It is the most advanced international ever and is destined to become a favourite of stand-up and big game anglers around the globe. The reel has advanced features like a more versatile lever drag, Bio-Drive retrieve system, one touch shifting system, double disc drag and new handle, making it more powerful and easy to use.

The new size bridges the gap between the 50 and 80 and will allow the owner to fish either 1000m of 24kg, or 600m of 37kg line. Thompson Walker's national sales manager, Andy Mercer describes it as 'an ideal option for small boat anglers wanting to target really big fish on 37Kg stand Up gear, Its narrow profile and spool size allows the angler a great deal more comfort than a 80 size reel. Its also going to be very popular with the Bigger Boat and Chair Fishermen as a large capacity 24Kg Reel.'

They are also bringing in the new Penn Formula Series of graphite two speed lever drag reels. These should be a great hit due to their strength and durability. The only reels to combine Penn's legendary two speed lever drag performance with the light weight, strength and corrosion resistance of a one piece graphite frame. Perfect for fighting bluewater gamefish of all sizes, from light tackle marlin and tuna, to kingfish and more. They will also be great for tough bottom-dwelling species like grouper and bluenose. The two models available will be in the 10 and 15kg class. Both of these reels are due to be released in November and you will find them in most quality tackle stores.
