ICE BREAKER – SATURDAY 24 NOVEMBER 2007
An overcast day with light showers greeted 24 boats and 68 anglers all in search of Kingfish, Snapper, Hapuka and Trevally. For those anglers who headed towards the Alderman’s the conditions were reasonable whereas those who headed out towards the Mercury Islands and Cuvier experience some pretty untidy conditions and with that fishing the favourite spots was pretty hard going. No wind on land and a benign looking Bay did not tell the true picture offshore where 30 knot plus south easterlies made life pretty uncomfortable for the boats and anglers..
Notwithstanding the weather all species were caught with the majority of anglers returning with something for the pan..
