Maretron Announces N2KView iPhone Application

 Maretron, has announced that Apple Inc. has approved their N2KView Vessel
Monitoring and Control software application for use on the iPhone/iPod/iPad product lines. This application is available for all to be downloaded for free from the Apple iTunes store.

With a Maretron N2KView application on your iPhone/iPod/iPad product, a boat owner already having this software on their vessel will be able to monitor or control a variety of different vessel data using wireless internet, whether they are onboard the boat, from the marina, car, home, office, etc. The N2KView application works in conjunction with Maretron’s popular N2KView vessel monitoring and control software.

Originally introduced by Maretron in 2007, N2KView is a fully integrated vessel monitoring and control system that is built upon the industry-standard NMEA 2000 marine network. Whether you are interested in monitoring your vessel’s systems while underway or remotely from your home or office, Maretron’s N2KView software displays the information you need including engines, gensets, tanks, rudders, navigation instruments, local weather, electrical systems, and much more.

N2KView is completely user-configurable and you are free to design different screens to your exact needs on the PC or Mac version; download your screens to your iPhone/iPod/iPad using your connection to N2KServer; then easily switch from screen to screen for monitoring all your systems. Digital displays, analog gauges, graphic displays, warning lights, and bar graphs can all be configured to your personal preferences. You can even set the operating limits and colour bands for analog gauges so you know when things are within limits and when they are not.

Once you connect a PC or Mac to the NMEA 2000 network using the Maretron USB100 gateway, you can connect other computers or handhelds using conventional technology like Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or 3G networks for remote viewing of things such as tank levels up on deck while fueling. You can also monitor the vessel’s location anywhere in the world using an Internet connection back to the boat.
