Hi Folks,

Great fishing last comp, Ray and I fished all the way down to Te kaha, without any luck, and ended up at one of our local spots here, using anchovies for bait we started getting bites around 10pm and pulled in a few weighable snapper, some fished down the coast and were rewarded with good size snapper and kahawai, Murray secured a beaut 15kg Kingi which was later filleted off for those who wanted some nice kingi steaks, thanks Muzz and well done. Daryl won heaviest snapper and kahawai prizes. Francis’s eel won him junior heaviest fish. Great to see new comers Craig and Jody weighing in some awesome Kahawai, and winning the Raffle, overall there were 48 fish caught, well done everyone.

Yvonne, I have to mention this wonderful lady, one of the longest running females in our club, never before weighed in a fish, but certainly showed she’s got spunk by hauling in a big stingray, crying, ooh me arms ,ooh me arms! Sadly it didn’t count, but well done for a great effort, and hopefully next comp we’ll see a bin full of fish.

April 29^th Sunday – Annual Ladies Comp 11am to 3pm, Ohiwa spit to wharf
