Available in 350 and 450 sizes, the Komodo low-profile baitcasting reels feature: a stainless-teel main gear and pinion gear; heavy-duty stainless-steel drive and spool shafts; a rigid diecast aluminium frame; and side-plates mated with a machined-aluminium anodized spool. The multi-disc carbonite drag system is controlled by a microclick drag star for precise drag settings.
The 350 size has six stainless-steel bearings plus one roller bearing, with the 450 size having an extra ball bearing. Both reels boast: a dual anti-reverse for extra strength; a six-pin Velocity Control casting system; and a synchronized level-wind with a zirconium line-guide insert for use with braided line. Available in right- and left-hand models, they also have a ratchet for trolling or bait fishing.
Distributed by Composite Developments, Albany, Auckland, and available through retailers, nationwide.
