AGM Sunday 12th September 2004 at the Tangimoana Boating Club rooms, Domain Parade Tangimoana.
Commordore's Report:
This month we look forward to the Annual Awards Dinner on August 7th. This is our main formal event of the year where we gather together to recognise the successes of the past year, to enjoy a nationally acclaimed guest speaker, to rejoice in the fellowship of the club, and just have a great time. This year the format is slightly different, we will be at the McKelvie Hall instead of the Boat Club, as the increased popularity of this event has meant that our clubrooms are inadequate for the task and the weather can no longer affect the event. The function will be limited to those who have purchased a ticket, however all members are most welcome to attend the awards presentation itself. Our organising team of Judith and Andrew Grootjans , John and Carol Grice, Brent and Margaret Smith, Karyn McDonald and Jennie Adamson have put a huge amount of work into making this a great evening for you all.
The committee have approved the idea of increasing the pins we can compete for. Terakihi, Blue Cod and John Dory have now been added to the list. There are also some minor rule changes and clarifications. This will increase the species that we are able to compete for, and hopefully result in more of our anglers winning pins.
The entertainment team held a hilarious duck calling and stag roar competition. Thanks to Lyndsay Brown for his superb MC and to Marguerite O'Leary, Sue Bell, Karyn McDonald, Jennie Adamson and Ray O'Leary for their hard work in setting up the event.
A busy time ahead for us all, lets have some fun.
Dave Adamson
