Going Ballistic...

Brian Moore’s long awaited fourth painting in his NZ Billfish Series has just been released. This is a beauty and has to find a place on any keen Gamefishing aficionado's wall.

The original inspiration for this study of a Black Marlin powering out of the water, came from the magnificent catch of a huge black just off the Hole in the Rock during the 2001 Tutukaka five-day tournament.

Brian had just arrived in Tutukaka to deliver four of his bronze marlin sculptures, as tournament prizes for the winning team, when he came across a TV cameraman lying on the grass happy and exhausted.  Of course he got the whole story of the amazing action footage the cameraman had managed to capture.  This film helped a great deal in background material Brian was later to use for the painting itself.

“Going Ballistic” is a watercolour painting reproduced as a limited edition of 500 individually numbered and signed prints.
