Fishing Tales

Monster Trev

Pictured is local fisherman Bill Imms with a personal best Trevally weighing 8.635kg caught in the Rangaunu Harbour on 18 October 2006. Since then he has caught a even better Trev, weighing 8.89 kg, on November 12th.

Blue Fin Tuna

Below are local club members with their Blue fin Tuna caught during a trip to the Hokitika Trench at the end of July 2006 aboard the charter boat 'Cascade'. All three fish were over 200kg, the heaviest caught by David Bellingham and weighing 254 kg.  It has been mounted and is now hanging, with pride in the clubrooms.

L to R: Lloyd Wilkie, Alex Carey, Allan Bell, Paul Lennon and David Bellingham
