First Meeting

About 40 people attended the inaugural meeting of The Hibiscus Kayak Fishing Club last night. Hosted at The Johnson Outdoors Watercraft premises in Silverdale, the meeting heard from John Klingenberg, the initiator of the club concept and were entertained by an informative presentation from a very experienced kayaker and fisho, Kerry Howe. Kerry had a number of invaluable ideas and handy hints to share with the group which were of interest to newbies and experienced yakkers alike.

The club plans to bring all interested kayak fishers together for regular meetings to exchange information on equipment and fishing tips. Guest speakers will be invited to future meetings to cover all facets of the sport and gear used. Club trips will be organized along with local competitions.

One very important activity for the club will be to promote safe kayaking while fishing and educating all members how to get the best out of their equipment safely.
