First Marlin for Houhora

An 118.6 kg striped marlin was weighed at Houhora on Sunday 14th January 2007 by senior member Irene Lee, from the launch 'Intrepid'.

Caught in 130 metres off Mt Camel in water reaching 24 degrees, the fish was taken on a blue and white lure.  It was the second shot of the day for the Houhora based charter boat.  The first fish, also attracted to the blue and white lure, failed to stay hooked.
