Progress on a new Clubhouse
Progress on a new clubhouse on the Northern Reclamation is well advanced.
The Thames Coromandel District Council (T.C.D.C.)has received a letter of intent from the Government giving them the right to have a license to occupy the Northern Reclamation. This gives the T.C.D.C. the right to sub license the area to the Mercury Bay Ocean Sports Club.

There were 292 submissions in favour of the change of use of the Northern reclamation and four against. These submissions are expected to be heard by the T.C.D.C. in June 2000. Hopefully these objectors will not stop the project form going ahead.

World Record Catch Confirmed
Grant Blair’s 9.045kg Snapper caught on 2kg line on Feb 26th, the last day of the 2000 One Base Tournament has been verified by the IGFA as a world record for 2kg line class.
