DaCinka - You'll be Hooked on This Bait System

Less than a year after DaCinka®TM was launched, the Kiwi bait delivery system has been picked up by more than 45 stockists nationwide and received rave reviews from a range of fishermen.

DaCinka revolutionises fishing – boasting greater land-based casting distances, a berley oil feature to attract fish, minimal drag and enhanced popper lure appeal.

“We have been blown away by how well received DaCinka has been. We get hundreds of online orders, and when we ask for feedback fishermen tell us the difference it has made to their cast distance, and how it’s helped them with their catch,” Zane Nicholson, co-inventor of DaCinka and life-long fisherman, says.

He met one-armed Coromandel fisherman Dave Lenden, who needed a sinker that is easy to bait, easy to cast and one that would lure fish. Lenden, who is nicknamed Captain Hook, had been working on this revoluntionary design.

“When I first saw the concept and how far it casts, and how it acts on retrieval, I was absolutely blown away. I think it is an amazing invention,” Nicholson says. “With DaCinka you can reach up to 40 percent further when casting.”

The pair collaborated on the final design and got it ready for market.

DaCinka comes in four weights – 3oz, 4oz, 5oz and 6oz, with or without a grapple – and is ideal for beach, rock and drone fishing.

It can be set up as a running rig, a single or a double ledger rig and can also be used with bait and softbaits. It is available with a breakaway grapple system or non-breakaway. Once the bait or softbait is taped to the sinker, berley oil can be poured onto the cavity. There are no exposed hooks as you cast, and the bait is not released until it has hit the bottom.

“Less than a year on the market, we now have almost 50 stockists around the country – and we are committed to dispatching online orders within 24 hours. I can’t tell you how fantastic it feels to know people love them.

“DaCinka are unique as they are suitable for rock fishing and drone fishing too, and when retrieving, they lift off the bottom and come up to the surface, so they are less likely to get caught or snag on weeds or rocks,” Nicholson says.

And what do fishermen think? They love the Kiwi ingenuity!

Drone Fishing New Zealand tried them and posted: “These are great for drone fishing use. We call them a 3-in-1 breakaway sinker.”

Jason Boa of South Island Land Based Fishing, said: “I have used DaCinka with bigger baits. Been impressed. The casting was far easier, got better distance and caught fish. Good product.”

Rob Parker of Houhora Fishing Charters and a past winner of the Snapper Bonanza Surfcasting Competition at 90 Mile Beach, endorses DaCinka. “This is a great invention for beginners through to experienced surfcasters to help with their distance and timing for casting. A smooth action is far better than an aggressive action when learning.”

Pani Gurnick, of Out for a Cast Fishing, said: “I've found using DaCinka is easy to rig up and my casting was further. The berley feature is such an added bonus to attract fish that my first cast with DaCinka was with a nice size snapper and I also found that retrieving was so much easier than a normal sand spike sinker. Even my son finds it a lot easier.”

DaCinka retails from $24.95. Online orders are distributed within 24 hours. For local stockists, go to www.dacinka.co.nz
