Bluefin Quota Full
The Fisheries Ministry said New Zealand's bluefin tuna fishery will close tomorrow because the catch limit is about to be filled. It will remain closed until Sept.30, the end of the fishing year.
New Zealand's annual quota of bluefin tuna was 420 metric tons, set under a regulation that gave effect to New Zealand's agreement under the Convention for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna.
