Black Magic snap swivel does the trick

Recently, Bay of Islands' angler, Cameron Galbraith, headed out with fishing buddy Brandon Hull to see if they could bag themselves a marlin. As we all know, sometimes things don't quite work out when you're packing up the kit and on this occasion they left the heavy duty snaplock swivels behind.

After a bit of a rumage about, the closest thing they had onboard that day was a Black Magic ‘snapper’ snaplock swivel and so it was duly deployed as part of the rigging.

Trolling in 70 metres inside the Ninepin, Cameron spotted a ‘bait ball’ with several marlin in attendance. One run past the bait produced a hook-up and after two hours and 20 minutes later, the 80kg marlin was boated.

Pretty good job with a Black Magic ‘snapper’ snaplock swivel we reckon and is testament to the quality of the Black Magic brand and their range of excellent products.
